We choose Delhi as our starting point for the Garhwal bike tour because the city is a transport hub and well connected to every part of the country. The refreshing trip begins after your arrival at the Delhi International Airport. A well-experienced and cheerful representative will meet at the airport, from where you will be dropped at your pre-booked hotel. Day 1 is reserved for relaxation as from the next morning, your days will be full of fervour and excitement for the next two weeks. Day: 2 Delhi Sightseeing Tour
The next morning, after breakfast, you are all set to experience the best of Indian culture with a guided sightseeing tour. The entire city is dotted with landmarks and tourist attractions depicting the rich Indian heritage and culture. From splendid architectureto bustling bazaars, Delhi has everything to astonish a first-time visitor. The tour begins by exploring the rustic charm at Old Delhi. From the old style monuments to the rustic markets, everything in Old Delhi has historic importance. We will visit Jama Masjid, the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk Market to learn about their great connection with historic relevance. We will also explore the splendid architecture at Jantar Mantar, India Gate, the President’s House, Laxminarayan Temple, Akshardham Temple, ISKON Temple, and Lotus Temple.

Day: 3 Delhi – Rishikesh
We will have an early start to the day to catch the train to Haridwar. We will cover the journey to the holy town on a train to explore another aspect of travelling in India. Haridwar is a holy place for Hindus and hasa multitude of prominent places of worship, including the iconic Ghats where Ganga Arti is performed. Rishikesh, which is our next destination, is 25 kms away from the Haridwar railway station. We will drive to cover the distance and enter the Gateway to Garhwal.
Rishikesh is an ancient city nestled between river promenades, dense forests and Shivalik Mountains. We will reach Rishikesh around noon and explore the surreal appearances throughout the evening. Known for its majestic temples and Yoga ashrams, Rishikesh is a perfect place for off-beat experiences and de-stressing.
To explore the jaw-dropping spectacles of the raw wilderness or architectural feats around the town, you can have your bike. Take a quick bike tour in the evening to warm up and to make sure that you don’t need any adjustments to the bikes. After sunset, we will be back at the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day: 4 Rishikesh – Tehri
It is the official start of your bike tour and indeed it has to be memorable enough, so we picked New Tehri as your first pit stop. Located on a hilltop, it is a modern town known for water expeditions. The newly constructed dam and the massive artificial lake are the prime attractions at this beguiling hill station. Situated at an elevation of more than 1700 meters, pedalling to Tehri is going to be fairly exciting. We will have a backup saddle and when you feel that the bike trails are getting too strenuous, you can stop pedalling and get into the cab to cover the rest of the journey. Day: 5 Tehri – Dharasu
Day 5 calls for an early start to witness the glistening sights throughout our way to the next destination, Dharasu. We will be pedalling alongside Bhagirathi which looks divine during the morning hours when the sun’s rays manifold its unadulterated beauty. After pedalling a fairly smooth ride we will Dharasu which is famous as a diversion point for Yamunotri and Gangotri. The quaint little town falls on the route of the Char Dham highway project, which is aimed at connecting the top four pilgrimages in India. Along with the newly constructed road, there is another route to reach Dharasu. Considering your pedalling power, we will take the desirable route, either way you won’t miss the picturesque sceneries throughout the way. As we are going near the Himalayan majesty, we put in some more effort to make the trip memorable for you. That’s why, in Dharasu, we will have dinner and overnight stay in a tent.

Day: 6 Dharasu – Uttarkashi
Uttarakhand is famous for its divine aura. The entire state is dotted with picturesque lakes, holy rives and revered temples. Our day starts with a 30 kms long journey to enter Uttarkashi which is renowned for the ancient Kashi Vishwanath temple. Our ride to the temple is surely rewarding as we will cross many small towns and villages before reaching Uttarkashi. The entire route is filled with Garhwal’s hidden gems. Amidst the scenic surrounding is situated Uttarkashi on the banks of the mighty Bhagirathi river that becomes Holy Ganges from here. A visit to the much talked about Vishwanath temple is a little challenging as Uttarkashi sits at a higher altitude. After putting your pedalling power to test, we will finally reach our destination in the evening. The visit to the temple is followed by dinner and an overnight stay in a pre booked hotel.

Day: 8 Bhatwari – Harsil
On our way to Harsil, you will experience the calm and tranquillity of the Garhwal Himalayan region at its primal best. As known by many, the river Bhagirathi is the most turbulent Himalayan river, however in Harsil the foaming waters are absent and all you can see is a calming river flowing peacefully. However, getting the slice of paradise is going to be slightly challenging on day 8 as many hairpins are part of the route to Harsil.
For a beautiful view of the Himalayan range, we will be gaining height by crossing the most challenging Sukhhi Top, which is a perfect choice for adventure lovers. It is going to be the most strenuous 40 kms on this entire cycle tour in India. If you are enchanted by thrilling things then it will be a perfect day for otherwise, you will always have the option to stop pedalling and switch to the backup saddle. Day: 9 Harsil – Gangotri
Day 9 allows you to enrapture in the serenity in the most exciting yet challenging way. As we are biking in the great Himalayan region, rolling on the trails is certainly not easy. To explore the blissful aura of Gangotri, we will cover a distance of 30 kms on the most adventurous trails. The picturesque landscape at Gangotri is created by snow clad Himalayan range, gushing Bhagirathi river and the Gangotri temple. The temple has utmost relevance in the Hindu religion as it is considered one of the four holy pilgrimages known as “Char Dham”. A short trek here can take you to the origin of the holy river Ganges, which is about 30 kms long and 4 kms wide. Gangotri town has its religious importance but in the past few years, thousands of non-Hindu tourists have also visited this place considering it is one of the most stunning off-beat places with stunning views of serene quaint Himalayas. After visiting famous attractions nearby Gangotri town, we will call it a day and have dinner at a hotel.

Day: 10 Gangotri – Gangnani
The vicinity of the Himalayan range to Gangotri town makes it an important part of the Garhwal itinerary. After spending some precious moments amidst the lush green hills, celestial Gangotri shrine and the splendid Himalayan views, we will make a U turn and head towards Uttarkashi. On our way back, we will stop at a different destination named Gangnani, which is an ideal retreat for peace lovers. Gangnani attracts thousands of devotees every year at a thermal water spring named Rishikund. Devotees believe that taking a dip in the hot water spring will cleanse their bodies and souls. Although the serene surroundings on this place are perfect for rejuvenation so whether or not you are spiritually inclined Gangnani is worth making a halt. Day: 11 Gangnani – Uttarkashi
Nestled on the foothills of the grand Himalayas, the Garhwal region is full of surprises. A quaint getaway on the surreal lands is best explored with close encounters of the rustic charm. Day: 12 Uttarkashi – Brahmkhal

After breakfast, we will bid adieu to the celestial old town of Uttarkashi and turn our handlebars towards Dharasu, but we are not going back to the same destination. Uttarakhand state is full of mesmerizing off-beat destinations and the next point in our expedition is the stunning Brahmkhal that offers exclusive vantage points as it is situated at a higher altitude. Indeed, we will be gaining 1000 meters of elevation in a single day to reach Brahmkhal which itself is perfect to raise your adrenaline levels. After pedalling for about 40 kms, we will immerse into the scenic vistas at this beguiling little village. To make the stay rejuvenating, we will have dinner and retire in a tent.
