Day: 1 Bangalore

The trip begins when you reach the Bangalore airport. You will be escorted to a pre-booked hotel room. Day 1 is usually reserved to let the guests get over from jet lag. If you don’t experience any fatigue symptoms, we can also arrange a sightseeing tour of this beautiful capital city of Karnataka. Bangalore is widely known as the IT hub of the country but it has an abundance of greenery which gave it the nickname of the ‘Garden City’. The weather and climate here are pleasant all year long. We can plan a quick sightseeing tour as the city has many places of interest including historical sites, lush green gardens, temples and more.

Day: 2 Bangalore – Mysore

On the second day of your tour, we will explore the cultural capital of Karnataka, i.e. Mysore. It is a three and half hour drive from Bangalore, which can only be covered easily if we drive there. So no cycling on day two; after breakfast, we will be heading towards Mysore to encounter the mesmerizing beauty of heritage sites all day long.

Tour of this peaceful city starts by getting enchanted with the historical relevance of the magnificent Mysore Palace. The phenomenal architecture of the palace has made it one of the most popular South India attractions that tourists don’t miss to include in their Kerala bike trip packages. The artworks of this palace won’t cease to amaze anyone. Located in the heart of the city, the palace is a glimpse of British architecture beautifully combined with Muslim, Rajput and Indo-Saracenic styles. Nearby the palace there are a lot of tourist attractions like temples, churches, museums, art galleries, and other sites of historic relevance. If time permits we would cover some more attractions or would go for street shopping to indulge in the local flavours and mesmerizing art and craft. Day: 3 Mysore – Srirangapatna - Mysore

This is the first day of cycling, for which we have chosen the architectural masterpiece at a nearby island town named Srirangapatna. The ride is somewhat easier and due to our attentive and knowledgeable guide tour of this town becomes a highlight of your holiday. We will be riding over a historic bridge, which is standing the test of time for more than 200 years. Our guides will share the greatest insights about the historic ruins of the valiant warrior kind Tipu Sultan. The scenic beauty of this town boasts cultural, historic and religious importance which even took it to UNESCO nominations for the world heritage site.

After exploring the marvellous beauty of temples, tombs and palaces in Srirangapatna, we will be back to Mysore to leave the rest of the day for another adventure ride. After taking lunch in Mysore, you are expected to buckle up as we will be gaining an altitude of 200 m to reach Chamundi Hills. The place is renowned for scenic beauty and to leave you awestruck there is a 16 feet tall colossal figure of the sacred bull- Nandi, which is carved on a gigantic rock. Spend some moment to admire the craftsmanship and the devout zeal, then we will be back in the city to take dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day: 4 Mysore – Bandipur

Bandipur is known as one of the best managed National Parks in the country. It is a famous tiger reserve where tourists also enjoy lodging and camping. Bandipur is nestled quietly 80kms away from the busy and noisy city life of Mysore. There will be a lot of encounters with the locals as we will be pedalling towards the ethos of deep forests. It is the best place for wildlife outings as it is quite a dense forest with ample chances of tiger sightings. Before we reach Bandipur, we will take a quick detour to the very famous Nanjangud pilgrimage which is known for the ancient Srikanteshwara Temple boasting the architectural beauty of the bygone era.

The temple is famous for the 120ft tall nine-storied tower that is thoughtfully crafted in the mesmerizing Dravidian architecture. After visiting the temple, we will turn our handlebars to experience the nurtured wildlife experience at Bandipur. Here we can book safaris in the AM and PM. Evening safaris are more pleasant, however, we would arrive here late in the evening so we will book safaris for the next day to find a deep connect with wildlife in the dense forests of Bandipur.

Day: 5 Bandipur – Madumalai – bandipur

The day starts early as we have bookings for the morning safari at Bandipur National Park. The beautiful forest offers ample sightings enroute. Home to rich flora and fauna, here one can easily spot tigers, leopards, spotted deer, elephants, and various species of birds. Day 5 is reserved for jeep safari and we won’t be cycling on this day. To explore even more encounters in the natural habitat, we would book one more safari to visit the Madumalai National Park. The beauty of nature here is apt to indulge your senses into serenity. The nature’s abode here features a spellbinding view of the famous Madumalai waterfalls and the tranquillity of the national park is home to many wildlife species. After revelling in the best of nature’s contact, we will drive back to our stay for the night in Bandipur.

Day: 6 Bandipur – Ooty

After taking a day-long break from pedalling, your muscles would be quite amped up for the adventure ahead. For a blissful and offbeat experience, we will turn our handlebars towards Ooty which is a famous scenic hill station in South India. Located at an enthralling ascent of 2177 meters, the gorgeous town offers ample opportunities to astonish tourists. You would enjoy basking in the middle of nature and hardly notice the challenging trail. Surrounded by serene views the trail actually has 36 hairpin bends which are adequate to kick adrenaline. The adventurous bike trail offers plenty of opportunities to zoom out your camera lenses. The special feeling of freezing the scenic beauty in your frames is hard to experience in words. The stops are also great to relax and buckle up for the remainder steep climb.

We will always have the backup saddle, so if you are not up for the challenging bike ride you can hop into the cab whenever you want. Climbing to the top sends a unique sensory experience that will surely resuscitate your mind, body and soul. Ooty is sort of a nature’s gift and often claimed at ‘Switzerland of India’ for the abundance of beauty which is augmented by soothing climate, enchanting flora and fauna and of course the scintillating homegrown coffee and tea.

Ooty is just 40 kms away from Bandipur which can be covered in only half of the daytime. So there will be plenty of time in the evening which you can spend exploring the majestic hill station. Ooty offers the rarest glimpse of nature, dotted plantations at tea gardens and has a lot of exciting things to do in the markets. This place is truly a gift of life, which you will encounter throughout the evening before we retire for the night at a beautiful boutique hotel.

Day: 7 Ooty – Guruvayur

Leaving the adoring beauty of mountain peaks of Ooty behind, we will be rolling down the gentle lush green slopes on the next day. The breezy ride on the Western Ghats is a must-see experience when considering the different vantage points of South India. Exploring the natural wonders enroute we will be losing 2000 meters of altitude before hitting Mettupalyam which is a scenic village giving delightful views of the Nilgiri Ghats. There are several places of cultural and religious importance in this village. Bustling with cultural opulence, the village is on our itinerary for a tea break.

After this short break, we will be back on our rides to encounter some more mesmerizing views in the montane ecoregion of South Indian rainforests. Gushing the bikes through the scenic routes, you will know the best nature can offer to us. Followed by the tea break at Mettupalyam, we would cover the remaining distance to enter the third state for the tour of the Indian Peninsula, i.e. Kerala.

Rejuvenated in the serenity when we would cover the entire rainforest slopes, we will mark the end of the cycling point. From here onwards, we will be driving towards Guruvayur which is a three and a half long journey. The strategic location of Guruvayur always keeps it full of devotees. Here you get ample time in the evening to have some local encounters, visit the nearby temple which is reckoned as the holy abode of Hindu Lord Vishnu. Ardent devotees can visit the temple but after a certain point,entry is banned for other religions except for Hindus, Buddhists and Jains.

Day: 8 Guruvayur – Fort Kochi

For some more exhilarating fusion of culture and religion, we will visit Palayur Church which is the oldest church in India. The original altar of this church is established by St. Thomas in 52 AD. After visiting the historic church, we will continue our experiential journey by pedalling towards the coastline which is filled with vibrant and colourful sights. On this route, you are not expected to lose concentration as the roads are bustling with local life and unique traffic which involves carts and tuk-tuks. Day: 9 Fort Kochi – Alleppey

To explore the quaint charm, we would turn our handlebars towards Alleppey for a leisurely ride to the magical world of beautiful Kerala backwaters and houseboats. The canals and laidback water bodies are aesthetically fringed by tall coconut trees which makes Alleppey the perfect place to unwind. Day: 10 Alleppey – Marari Beach
