Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Bagdogra – Gangtok

Arrive at Bagdogra International Airport and drive along NH 31 to Gangtok (approx. 4 hrs). Pass through Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary and alongside the Teesta River, with photo stops en route. Evening briefing, bike fitting, and dinner.

Day 2: Gangtok City Ride

Acclimatise with a 25 km warm-up ride to Gangtok’s highlights: Tashi Viewpoint for sweeping Kanchenjunga vistas, Gonjang Monastery, Ganesh Tok, and Hanuman Tok (2,180 m), the city’s highest point.

Day 3: Gangtok – Martam Village – Temi Tea Garden

Ride 60 km through oak forests and gentle descents, stopping at Rumtek Monastery, Sikkim’s most important centre of Buddhist learning. Continue to Martam Village and the fragrant Temi Tea Garden (1,500 m).

Day 4: Martam Village – Ravangla

Morning stroll through the tea gardens, then a 23 km descent to Ralang Monastery, rich in Tibetan art and Thangka paintings. Continue to Ravangla, framed by Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Pandim.

Day 5: Ravangla – Yuksom

Cycle 60 km via Tashiding, famed for its sacred monastery and annual Bumchu festival. Climb to Yuksom, Sikkim’s first capital, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and alpine forests.

Day 6: Yuksom – Pemayangtse

Explore Khecheopalri Lake and nearby Kanchenjunga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue 40 km to Pemayangtse, base for treks to Mt. Kanchenjunga and home to the celebrated Pemayangtse Monastery.

Day 7: Pemayangtse – Darjeeling

Visit Pemayangtse Monastery for quiet meditation and Himalayan views, then enjoy a 55 km mostly downhill ride to Darjeeling, famous for its tea estates and British colonial heritage.

Day 8: Darjeeling – Tiger Hill

Wake early for a sunrise ride/drive to Tiger Hill (2,590 m), where the first light hits Kanchenjunga and Everest. Later, visit Ghoom Monastery and ride the UNESCO-listed Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train).

Day 9: Kotabag – Kaladungi

Day 9: Darjeeling – Bagdogra (Departure)
